Diagonal shell belt/ hair wrap

Well here goes for another first. I made this up whilst I couldn't sleep last night and decided to share the pattern with you all. This has held my hair out of my face all day and provided DD2 with something to amuse.

Chain 201 ( chain must be a multiple of 4+1 to work)

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc to end, ch4, turn.

Row 2: skip 3sc, sc in next sc, *ch4 skip 3sc, sc in next sc*. Repeat from * to * to end, ch4, turn.

Row 3: *2tr through next ch4, ch1 (yo hook, insert hook into sp at right of 2nd tr from hook, complete a dc) 4 times*. Repeat from * to * to end, ch4, turn.

Row 4: skip 3dc, sc in next dc, *ch4, skip 3dc in next block/shell, sc in 4th dc*. Repeat from * to * to end, ch4, turn.

Row 5: dc in ch4 st, *3dc in chain sp, dc in next dc* repeat to end.

Finish and weave in ends.

Abbr:

sc - single crochet

ch - chain

tr - treble

yo - yarn over

sp - space

dc - double crochet

5mm hook size, dk 100% acrylic yarn

This is a really easy pattern to complete and really multi functional. The hook size and yarn weight could be adjusted up or down to slightly adjust the effect and item weight. The overall item length is easily adjusted as long as the starting chain is always a multiple of 4 + 1.

I hope you like this pattern, please leave a comment and let me know if you make it.

Thank you. I was looking for a simple belt like sash for my granddaughter's Hallowe'en costume. She needs to thread fabric strips through the spaces to hang down as part of a skirt. And this works perfectly. Again thank you and take care. From Canada.
